WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

Jesus warned us repeatedly that using His name is not the same as following Him.

Matthew 7 (KJV) 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The people running the US government, and the people who put them there, call themselves Christians. But Jesus said that He will reject those who work iniquity. Is it not iniquity to tamper with voter registration and voting machines, as the "Christian" Republicans have done so blatantly?

Is it not iniquity to invade another country under false pretenses, throw it into chaos and slaughter its inhabitants, and then steal its oil? Is it not iniquity to plot against internationally respected statesmen such as Kofi Annan and El-Baradi?

Is it not iniquity to alter the US tax structure so as to transfer wealth from the middle class to the ruling class? How about destroying Medicare and Social Security? How about saddling our children with unbearable debt and with the hatred of the rest of the world?

Will not Jesus reject people who plan and implement these policies, even if the self-styled Christians do hate abortionists, homosexuals, and towelheads?

The apostle John gives a further test. The great commandment of Jesus was to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are all neighbors on this small planet, and the only way to solve our common global problems is to follow this commandment. The Bush administration is built on fear and hatred, not on love.

It's time to call a spade a spade. These people are satanic, not Christian.

Beloved: The way we may be sure that we know Jesus is to keep his commandments. Whoever says, "I know him," but does not keep his commandmentsis a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Whoever hates his brother is in darkness;he walks in darknessand does not know where he is goingbecause the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Okay, one thing we CAN agree on is that many who are Republicans claim to be Christians as well. And that many decisions which are made by BOTH parties do not support Christ-like values.

First of all, the War was not the best decision, but what you are writing is completely biased. You take the easy way out by injecting your opinions and exaggerating in most of your sentences... or stating a blatant lie.

As much as I do not agree with the war, saying that the US went into Iraq to slaughter its inhabitants its completely false and misrepresentative of the truth. Also, steal its oil... if you want to bring that up, how about we bring up how the connection was to the Clintons.. well known DEMOCRATS.

With the "tamper with voter registration and voting machines" comment.. how about ACORN... an organization who barack obama has direct links to, including money donations, and their support for his campaign.

US tax law favors the poor. Not the rich. No one needs to explain that, if you can't see that, or understand that the rich are sick and tired of the government (who can't even run a fast food chain) trying to run their money and distribute it as they see fit. Welfare is a crime against the poor, it has done nothing but keep the impoverished in the same sad conditions. And the US tax laws make it easier for someone to stay in poverty and dependent upon the government than pull themselves out.

The top 25% of earners in the US pay 85% of our overall taxes.. I think it's pretty obvious that no one is stealing from the poor.

Destroying Medicare and SS.... riiight?? Have you even done any research on the stuff you post?

If anyone is saddling out children with debt it would be blamed on the majority of Americans.. Both Democrats and Republicans are responsible for this, and at least the Republicans plan to spend less INSTEAD of more..

Obviously you and I know verrrryyy different kinds of christians, considering that the majority of my church is Indian and we have had buddhist monks, jewish rabbi's and a muslim speak at my church all in the last year. I don't know of anyone who is hating "towelheads" as you call them. And with your comment about Christians hating homosexuals, I'll have you know that LAST WEEK our family had a man who is living a homosexual lifestyle at our house for a Bible study, and he has been coming for months. Christians may not agree with homosexuality, but you are a very judgemental person if you think that Christians hate these people. As for hating "abortionists".. I can't really agree with that considering my girlfriend is pro-choice..

And it's kinda sad, looking at that verse you use... considering all you are saying in this posting..
